📍: True Food Kitchen
222 West Ave, 78701
For a while now, True Food Kitchen has been on my list of new restaurants in Austin to check out. Why? True Food boasts healthy, guilt-free dining, making it easy to be a foodie while remaining conscious of your health.
❗️ TIP: Parking is free in the garage on Walter Seaholm Drive. Walk up the stairs next to the Austin Power Plant to find a gorgeous plaza, TFK and other restaurants.
In addition to their healthy meals, they offer juices, teas, lemonades, and even local kombucha. Pictured above is their matcha lemonade, an unusual combination that was surprisingly not bad. For those who like sweet drinks, maybe don’t order this one. It had a mellow flavor with hints of matcha.
Another great thing about True Food Kitchen is that there is literally something for every diet. The vegan, the lactose intolerant, the gluten free, but also for those who enjoy indulging in heavier options such as burgers or curry. The great thing is that no matter what, you know that you are putting good ingredients into your body.
These red chile noodles are an Asian-inspired noodle dish packed with vegetables. It pairs nicely with shrimp, and is a filling meal that won’t make you feel guilty afterward.
The space also includes a succulent on each table as well as other greens throughout the restaurant. High ceilings and a wide open layout make for a classy yet casual dining experience.
The waitresses also understand your social media addict tendencies and will gladly take several pictures for you, proving that they are committed to creating a comfortable environment for you to enjoy your true food.
