Beach Vibes in Florida | FL Travel Diary

This January, my friends & I took a trip to Florida. We spent a week exploring various cities in Southern Florida, and began our trip in Hollywood and Ft. Lauderdale. Here's a recap of day 1.

Our first meal in Florida consisted of breakfast sandwiches at Parrot Coffee. This bagel sandwich was one of the most satisfying breakfasts I have eaten and I love that they offer tomatoes on the side.

Las Olas Blvd is a street in Ft. Lauderdale containing shops, food, and art galleries.

One of the most frequent activities we took part in while visiting Florida was gallery hopping. I was honestly surprised at the number of fine art galleries and local vintage shops scattered around the cities, and thoroughly enjoyed just walking through them.

While strolling down Las Olas Blvd, we came across the National Geographic gallery. This one is filled with high resolution photographs by Nat Geo, and I am always insanely impressed at the beauty in every photo.

Thankfully, on our first day in Florida the weather was pretty decent. It rained a little in the morning, but by afternoon we were able to explore Hollywood beach.

This beach was sparse of people, and the waters were quite calm. We walked through the sand a bit and admired the general setting.

Being someone who has only recently experienced beaches, I have noticed that each beach is different in some way. It is hard to describe how exactly, but each has a different "feel."

Though the palm trees in Florida are slightly less menacing than those in Cali, I still enjoyed seeing them touch the landscape everywhere we went.

If you ever travel with me, expect to drink a lot of good coffee. This shop was the perfect afternoon stop for us to refuel on energy and enjoy some good espresso drinks. My macchiato was perfect - strong espresso flavor muted slightly by steamed milk.
